Regional
Kho-Kho Sports Meet
40th
Regional Kho-Kho Sports Meet was hosted by K.V. No.2
AFS Adampur from 4.11.09 to 6.11.09. 21
teams comprising of 264 students from different KVS of
Jammu Region participated in the said event.45 League
matches, 8 Quarter-Finals.04 Semi Finals and one Final
match.Were conducted by known refrees Sh. Ravinder
Singh, Sh. Manjeet Singh and Mr. Ashwini, Sports
Officers. The First Semi-Final took place between KV
No.2 AFS Adampur and KV. No.1
Amritsar
which was won by K.V. No.2 AFS Adampur by 8 points. In
the second Semi-Final K.V. No.1 Akhnoor gave crushing
defeat to Nangal Bhur by 1 point,. In the HARD line
match K.V. No. 2 AFS Adampur emerged victorious by
beating K.V. Akhnoor by 6 points. The gold medal was
won by K.V. No.2 AFS Adampur. Silver medal was won by
KV. No. 1 Akhnoor. Branze medal was won by the players
of K.V. Nangal Bhur, K.V. No.1
Amritsar
got the 4th position.
The opening
ceremony was chaired by group captain A. Mukhergee.
Cultural programme was also presented. The closing
ceremony was chaired by host Principal Sh. Suresh
Singh felicitating the players the Principal said them
to imbibe true values of SPORTSMANSHIP and become
useful citizens of
India
. The winners were awarded 12 Gold Medals, 12 Silver
Medals and 12 Bronze Medals. The players them folded
the flag and presented to the host Principal Sh.
Suresh Singh who later declared the Meet closed. The
Ceremony ended with National Anthem.

Social
Science Exhibition 2009-10 held on 27th Aug 2009 in
the activity room of the Vidyalaya. Lighting of lamp
by Vice Principal Mrs. Harjeet Kaur and various
cultural programs were conducted by students under the
supervision of Mrs. S. Malhan.

The
staff members of KV-2 adampur bade farewell to worthy
Principal Mr.Ved Prakash Marwhaha, after the
completion of about 35 years of fruitful service in
Kendriya Vidyalay Sangathan, on 31st July 2009.
The
function was marked by the benign presence of Mr. H.C.
Aggarwal , EO, Jammu Region. Various Principals of the
cluster were also present.The function began with an
excellent powerpoint presentation by Mr. Ateet Bhatt
(PGT Comp Sci) which depicted the biography of Mr. V.P.
Marwaha.
Former
Principal Mr. S.C. Bhasin advised Mr. Marwaha to be
ever energetic even after his retirement. A few staff
members made the environment musical with their
splendid melodious voices. The function was concluded
with a lunch and finally Mr. Marwaha was bade farewell
amid the thumping of drums. |

Poster making,Slogan Writing, Book Mark Writing,
Book Cover Making and Book Exhibition. |

28-2-2009 National Science day was celebrated. The day
commemorates the memory of Sir C.V. Raman. Science Quiz
was conducted and various science demonstrations were
presented by the students under the able guidance of science
teachers.

On 21st Feb,2009 ,Thinking Day was
celebrated with great zeal by paying homage to Baden
Powell,
the founder of Scout Movement. Various
activities were presented by Scout & Guide Students
under the supervision of Mr.Jang
Bahadur.
